David Madison

SBA Relationship Manager
Nationwide1

David Madison feels like the conductor of a small orchestra as a specialist in business acquisitions.

As a Vice President and Small Business Administration Relationship Manager, David works with buyers, sellers, loan underwriters, business bankers, brokers, and attorneys to originate SBA loans and keep acquisitions on track.

He’s helped clients throughout the Southeast to acquire everything from a carpeting and flooring store to an automotive tire business, fitness facility, architectural and engineering firm, and tax franchises.

Among his representative transactions are $2.6MM in acquisition financing for a distribution business in the Outer Banks area of North Carolina; $4.2MM in acquisition financing for a recreational equipment manufacturing company in central South Carolina; a $1.6MM debt consolidation loan in Greenville, North Carolina; an $800K acquisition loan for an elder care business in Richmond, Virginia; and a $3.2MM acquisition loan for a municipal services business serving North Carolina and Virginia.

David believes owning a business is an empowering experience which takes careful collaboration, and he feels fortunate to work with teammates at HomeTrust who help others achieve their goals.

He has over 30 years of experience in SBA finance, commercial real estate finance, and residential mortgage banking. Prior to HomeTrust, he worked as a business finance consultant for United Community Bank and Diamond Financial Services. In addition, he spent ten years at Chase, where his last position was as the National Retail Cross-Sell Training and Strategic Planning Manager.

David earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

When he’s not working, he enjoys playing golf. He also reviews and rates golf courses for a national magazine and aims to play 1,000 in his lifetime. (He’s close.)

David is married with two grown children and lives in Pinehurst, North Carolina.
