Michael Paradis, a Treasury Services Sales Officer at HomeTrust in Charlotte, started his career at his father’s two International House of Pancakes (IHOP) locations on Woodruff Road and Wade Hampton Boulevard in Greenville, South Carolina.
Filling various roles over ten years between the ages of 13 and 23, but mostly waiting tables, Michael says the job was an early character-building experience. His father eventually sold both locations, but Michael jokes that he has syrup in his blood.
While his experience at the restaurants was a formative part of his life, Michael was also good at math and ultimately got an internship at a bank.
He now uses his people and math skills to help current and prospective clients in the commercial and industrial space streamline their banking technology, reduce fraud risks, and manage working capital.
He enjoys delivering personalized service and expert advice, helping companies become more efficient, and working for an institution that values a creative, hands-on approach.
Michael began his banking career in 1999 at BB&T as a Payment Solutions Consultant helping businesses improve their banking process. He also worked at RBC Centura and First Citizens Bank.
Michael earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Clemson University. When he’s not working, he plays the bass guitar as a band member of Dave Koons & The Koyotes, which mixes blues, country and southern rock. He also practices mindfulness and meditation and attends East Charlotte Presbyterian Church.
He has one son, some fish, and a cat named Sugar.
