The Gail Parkins Memorial Ovarian Awareness Walk and 5k Run is intended to raise the level of awareness for this disease, provide financial support to research efforts, and to pay tribute to those touched by ovarian cancer.

The Manna Food Bank Empty Bowls Fundraiser is a unique and memorable event that celebrates community, art, and collaboration while bringing awareness to the very real problem of hunger.  Attendees choose a bowl handmade by local artisans and enjoy a meal of soup, bread, and dessert. The souvenir bowl they take home reminds them of all the empty bowls in the world.

This is the seventh year Pisgah Legal Services has hosted a forum to draw attention to the plight of people living in poverty in WNC. This event will include a talk from Matthew Desmond, PhD. His New York Times bestselling book Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City
