Bank in North Carolina | HomeTrust Bank Community EventsShelby, North Carolina – Founded in 1992, Hog Hapnin’ was organized to raise money for Children’s Homes of Cleveland County. An organization that helps children who have had to be removed from their family home and be placed in a safe environment.

This family friendly event takes place at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds and has three major components: car & cycle show, craft booths and BBQ!

Car and Cycle Show
You can check out the classic rides from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Attendees are the judges and get to vote for their 10 favorites. The award ceremony will take place at 3:00 p.m.

Craft Booths
The craft booths are open from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and are located throughout the fair grounds. Enjoy browsing the booths and talking to a variety of amazing regional artists.

BBQ
By that we mean lots and LOTS of BBQ! Over 50 teams are registered to compete for the KCBS BBQ competition in four categories: BBQ chicken, BBQ ribs, BBQ pork and BBQ brisket. Attendees can purchase food from any of the vendors or stop by the “Simply Samplin’” tent at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday and purchase a $10 ticket to try 8 different types of BBQ and vote for their favorite.
