Cherryville, North Carolina – On February 11, the Cherryville Chamber of Commerce held their 2016 Annual meeting, where they gave out awards for the 2015 year.
One of the highlights of the night was the Member of the Year Award, which was presented to the Cherryville branch of HomeTrust Bank.

During the presentation, this award was described as a celebration of the special efforts volunteered by member-businesses and/or individuals that make a special and significant difference, often behind-the-scene, in the operation of the Chamber, and subsequently, in the betterment of the Cherryville community.
Many of the efforts of the Cherryville branch, and particularly its Branch Manager, Heather Mauney were listed off as examples of contributions to the community, including:
- A major financial commitment to the Cherryville Main Street Program’s community branding initiative.
- Not only providing sole sponsorship and underwriter for the first years of the Cherryville Farmers’ Market, but also handing out free lemonade to local shoppers braving the hot afternoon sun.
- Participation in local community activities such as Relay for Life, the Cherry Blossom Festival, and the Christmas on Main Street Whoville event.
- In addition to all other sponsorships, participation and volunteerism, HomeTrust still takes time to support the Cherryville school system, Police Department, and youth programs.
All of the HomeTrust Bank branches are proud to be a part of, and be involved with the communities that they serve. However, the Cherryville branch of HomeTrust bank certainly worked hard to earn this tremendous award!
