Stonestreet also presented the New York Times Bestseller, The Rhythm of Life, by Matthew Kelly , to each school’s teacher of the year and to the district’s Board and Leadership Team members.

Asheville City Schools has named Ira B. Jones Elementary School 5th grade teacher, Victoria Angelotti as the district’s 2011-12 Teacher of the Year. Angelotti was chosen from among nine individual school teachers of the year based on the following criteria: Experience, continuing education, participation in school-based activities, participation in community activities, innovative approach in curricular areas, portfolio presentation, and interview.

‘Tori’ has taught every elementary grade except 4th during her 12-year career. She joined the Ira B. Jones staff three years ago, after teaching in Florida. She graduated Cum Laude in elementary education at the University of South Florida.
