Mr. Stonestreet is one of twelve banking executives selected nationally to serve on this newly appointed advisory committee and will serve a two year term. The MSAAC meets three times a year to develop recommendations for the OTS to consider regarding regulatory changes or other steps that may be taken by the OTS to ensure the continued health and viability of mutual savings associations.
Mr. Stonestreet has been an advocate for mutual institutions for more than thirty years. He joined HomeTrust Bank in 1989 as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and was named President and Chief Operating Officer in 2008. He currently serves on the American Bankers Association Mutual Institutions Advisory Committee and the Board for the North Carolina Bankers Association.
“I am honored to have been selected for this important new OTS Advisory Committee and look forward to the opportunity to continue to advocate for Mutual Institutions,” commented Dana Stonestreet. “Mutually chartered institutions do not have stockholders, so we can focus on serving Main Street instead of Wall Street – serving our customers and communities instead of stockholders, for generations to come.”
