The staff at the Joy of Music School in Knoxville know that an arts education is important for building confidence, strengthening problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, sparking creativity and improving academic performance.

The School’s mission is to provide a quality music education to financially disadvantaged, at-risk youth. They provide musical instruments and related accessories; private and group lessons; ensemble participation and music enrichment classes. Students also receive support and encouragement, so they may develop their artistic potential to the highest level possible.

Graduates of the Joy of Music School have pursued music careers in teaching and performing; one graduate is currently in graduate school at Julliard School in New York.
