Ricardo Palacio brings his expertise and passion to HomeTrust as a founding member of the bank’s Healthcare team.
As Vice President and Healthcare Banking Officer, Ricardo partners with dentists, physicians, veterinarians, and other professionals to strengthen cash flow, manage risk, and achieve long-term business goals.
His work includes credit structuring, treasury management, and financing for practice acquisitions, startups, commercial real estate, equipment purchases, and working capital throughout the South Carolina Upstate communities of Greenville, Spartanburg, and Anderson.
Above all, Ricardo aims to be a trusted advisor who helps business owners navigate their day-to-day operations and business needs.
Over a banking career spanning more than 15 years, Ricardo has helped businesses develop from startups into multi-million dollar operations.
He began his career with Bank of America in 2007 as a part-time teller in Simpsonville, South Carolina while pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Strayer University. Since then, he has held multiple roles across consumer, small business, and business banking.
A Greenville native and the son of Colombian parents, Ricardo is bilingual in English and Spanish and maintains strong ties to the local Hispanic community.
He finds it especially rewarding to support healthcare providers who contribute to the Upstate’s success, and he appreciates the region’s vibrant mix of cultures, restaurants, and local businesses.
Ricardo received Bank of America’s Pinnacle Club Diamond award in 2017, and he was selected for the South Carolina Emerging Leaders program in 2023. He also served on the Upstate Hispanic Growth Council.
Outside of work, Ricardo enjoys spending time with his wife, Paula, and their two children, Jaxon and Anna-Sophia. As a family, they enjoy traveling, hiking, going to the movies, and playing sports.
