The computers at the school were obsolete and would no longer be serviced or supported by the Gaston County Schools Technical Support Services.

Today’s education requires technology. End-of-Grade science tests are now administered online, so having quality computers is a must.

Stan Allen, Market President in Cherryville, and David Ferguson, Chairman of the Board of Directors in Cherryville, met with W. Blaine Beam Intermediate School’s Principal, Chad Hovis, and the school’s Media Specialist, Shaunda Camp to present the check for $4000. Principal Hovis was overwhelmed by the generosity shown by Cherryville Federal Bank.

“Helping local schools with the resources they need to educate our local students is an important part of our community initiative,” said Allen.
