Calendar of Events

This year marks the 16th annual Rossini Festival International Street Fair presented by Knoxville Opera. Knoxville natives and visitors can enjoy 11 hours of live entertainment on five outdoor stages (opera, jazz, ethnic music, gospel, modern and ethnic dance, ballet, vocal and instrumental ensembles) and the YMCA FamilyZone while shopping at exhibits of over 100 prominent Artisans and enjoying cuisine from dozens of food vendors.

The annual Business Ethics Luncheon brings together Asheville/Buncombe high school students and community leaders to share a meal, listen to a thoughtful keynote, and engage in lively conversation about current issues in business and ethics. Each year, more than 150 young people benefit from this signature event!

The Gauntlet is a small business enterprise development event produced by The Advancement Foundation. At the beginning of February a training program began, which engaged entrepreneurs in business plan development, market research, operational detail and sales/marketing techniques. The program will culminate on April 27th with judged presentations and The Gauntlet Business Competition awards event.

The Weaverville Art Safari is one of the original studio tours in the Asheville Area. It is a self guided free event where studios open their doors for an exclusive look at the artistic process, featuring artists who specialize in handmade pottery, glass, photography, sculpture, jewelry, furniture, painting, drawing, fiber art, wood art and more.

The Project Host 8th annual BBQ festival will be held at a new location this year, but the amazing food and mission will stay the same. Generated income from the festival allows Project Host the opportunity to provide a variety of support and programs to our community.

Students from Knoxville will spend their morning serving as junior docents at the Fort as part of their study of Tennessee history. The students will present their own interpretations of Pioneer History to the delight of their parents and other guests.
