The club learned the origin of money, its value, how to save, how to make good spending decisions, why we need money, and how to earn it.

Mary created games and treasure hunts to illustrate her lessons. The club also discussed foreign currency, and some children brought in coins from their home countries.

The students earned Owl money, Green Charter School’s currency, for each lesson. At the club’s final meeting, Mary hosted an ice cream sundae party, and the members of the Finance Club got to buy extra toppings with their Owl money.

Talk about a good spending decision!
