Mr. Davis, who retired as of November 13, 2006, has been an instrumental member of the Board, helping to guide the institution through many changes in the banking industry over the last 30 years. Peggy Craft Melville was elected to fill the vacant Board seat resulting from Mr. Davis’ retirement.

Peggy Melville currently serves as Senior Vice President of Administration and Corporate Secretary for HomeTrust Bank. She has been with the Bank since 1970. In addition to her many years of leadership and service to the Bank’s customers and employees, she has held, or currently holds, many positions of leadership in Western North Carolina including: Chairman – Haywood County Chamber of Commerce Chairman – Haywood Regional Medical Center Foundation Chairman – Pigeon River Fund Board Vice Chairman – Board of Trustees, Haywood Community College President – Haywood County School Foundation President – Hospice of Haywood County President & Treasurer – Altrusa Vice President – Haywood Waterways Association Treasurer – Smoky Mountain Economic Development Corporation Board Member – Haywood Community College Foundation Board Member – The Fund for Haywood County Board Member – Haywood Habitat for Humanity Board Member – United Way of Haywood County Melville has also been recognized by her community with the Haywood County Citizen of the Year award in 2001 and the Haywood Rotary Club Citizen of the Year award in 2000. She has also been honored by the banking industry with the North Carolina Bankers Association award for Political Leadership in 1999.
Ms. Melville lives in Haywood County. She has two children, Erik and Jennifer. Erik and his wife, Maggie, teach at Tuscola High School. Jennifer and her husband, Scot Worley, are the proud parents of Peggy’s pride and joy – two grandchildren – Carter (age 4) and Bryce (age 2). Jennifer teaches at Central Haywood High School and Scot is Armory Facilities Supervisor for Waynesville Recreation Department.
