McGuire, 47, was formerly a Senior Vice President with Wachovia Bank in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He has over 22 years experience in commercial and retail banking.

McGuire received his undergraduate degree from Western Carolina University in 1984. Most recently, while living in Winston-Salem, he served as a fundraising advisor for Wake Forest University’s Endowment for Psychiatry and Sleep Disorders Center. McGuire and his wife, Ellen, have 2 children, Sarah 17, and Caleb 14. The family will be relocating to Henderson County.
