HomeTrust Bank Sponsors Aston Park Tennis Courts

HomeTrust executive vice president Dana Stonestreet, and Susan Phillips, marketing director attended the ceremony at the 2007 City of Asheville Open Tennis Championships when the sponsorship was announced and the new tennis court windscreens were unveiled.

“HomeTrust Bank is pleased to support a project that will encourage a healthy lifestyle for adults and children,” stated Stonestreet. “The Aston Park Tennis Center is a jewel in the heart of downtown Asheville which offers the opportunity for citizens of all ages the chance to play a great sport for fun and exercise. Being an 81-year old community bank, we realize the importance of exercise and maintaining good health for all citizens. Our financial support of the Aston Park Tennis Center will benefit our local community and enhance the quality of life for many generations to come. We hope that our pledge will encourage additional contributions from businesses and interested individuals.”

Dr. Ed Isbey, chair of the Enhancement Campaign, said, “The committee welcomes HomeTrust Bank’s support of this beautiful public facility. We will continue to seek community and business support to enhance this public gem.” To date, the committee has raised $20,000 for the tennis center enhancements.

Aston Park Tennis Center is a service of the City of Asheville and is one of the finest public clay court facilities in the United States. The 12 lighted clay courts are constructed of the Har Tru Fast Dry clay court material. The center welcomes tennis players of all ages each year and offers a comprehensive tennis program.

The Asheville Parks and Greenways Foundation supports special projects and develops greenways in partnership with the City of Asheville Parks and Recreation Department. “We are pleased to support a tennis center that all citizens in the Asheville area can access,” said Honor Moor, executive director for Asheville Parks and Greenways Foundation.
