“Tryon Federal has always been about the mission of supporting this community,” says Superintendent of Polk County Schools Bill Miller. “We are proud to be their partner in providing our young people opportunities to learn and grow.”
The donation will be used to provide numerous items including equipment and some clothing needs according to Hemphill who submitted the proposal for the donation.
“In this economy, we are very grateful to Tryon Federal and other local businesses and community members who continue to support our students,” said Hemphill. “Their generosity makes it possible for our students to experience quality high school athletics and to grow from their experiences.”
Polk County High School’s athletic teams hold numerous regional and state titles and each year many of the school’s graduating athletes earn athletic and academic scholarships to universities and colleges nationwide.
