When she started her banking career in November 1988, Kelly Hannah recalls waiting in the bank teller’s deposit line, using an adding machine, writing ins and outs by hand, and manually balancing her accounts. Banking felt transactional, employees took orders, and Airport Road in Asheville, North Carolina ended at a small regional airport.
Now, Airport Road is a commercialized stretch leading to one of the nation’s fastest-growing airports, customers regularly make electronic deposits, and Kelly is a HomeTrust Business Banking Development Officer.
While Asheville and the banking industry have evolved in ways both big and small, Kelly says her meaningful relationships with clients haven’t changed after more than 30 years in the industry.
Born and raised outside of Asheville, Kelly thinks the city is still a great place to live, work and raise a family, and she feels fortunate to work for a bank headquartered in her hometown.
Before joining HomeTrust in 2020, Kelly led a group of ten branches as a Senior Vice President and Manager of Retail Banking at First Citizens Bank. Prior, she served as a Vice President and Business Banker, also at First Citizens Bank. She is a graduate of The University of North Carolina at Asheville.
When she isn’t working, Kelly enjoys spending time with her husband, son, two miniature schnauzers, and German shorthaired pointer.
She currently works out of the HomeTrust Arden Branch at 192 Airport Road.
