Brian Whelan offers full relationship loan and treasury management services in the Atlanta metropolitan area and across the HomeTrust footprint.

As a Senior Vice President and Commercial Relationship Manager, he concentrates on working capital, acquisition loans, CapEx lines of credit, commercial construction and permanent loans, and ESOP loans. He primarily works with companies with up to $300 million in revenue, including those involved in light manufacturing, distribution, and warehousing.

Over a career spanning more than 40 years, he has also focused on financing needs ranging from residential and commercial construction to retail strip centers, healthcare practice acquisitions and expansions, outpatient surgical and imaging centers, and church and school expansions.

Brian aims to be a trusted advisor for his clients and enjoys learning about the many ways that people manage diverse businesses, from startups to mid-market private companies.

His representative transactions include a $4MM recap loan to a service-based company with $55MM in revenue; a $3.5MM acquisition loan of a SAAS-based company; a $25MM construction loan for a church; and a $2MM Cap Ex loan to a fuel distributor in metro Atlanta.

Previously, he helped start De Novo Banks throughout the Southeast and worked with a variety of other community and regional banks including Synovus and Atlantic Capital, where he focused on cash flow lending. In addition, he founded his own leasing company and formed part of a medical funding company for personal injury victims.

A native of Savannah, Georgia, Brian has been based in the Atlanta area since 1982.

He is active with the North Fulton Chamber of Commerce and is a member of Dunwoody Country Club in Atlanta and the Royal Liverpool Golf Club in England. He is also a proud alum of The University of Notre Dame, where he received a BA in Accounting and an MBA and served as a punter on the varsity football team.

Along with his wife and two children, roughly 15 other members of his family are also Fighting Irish alumni.
