Frank Wingate started working at his hometown bank in Cornelia, Georgia at age 14.
He is now Senior Commercial Relationship Manager and Senior Vice President of HomeTrust Bank in Greenville, South Carolina, where he serves middle-market manufacturers, distributors, professional services companies, and other growth-driven businesses with up to $300MM in revenue.
Over a nearly 30-year career in banking, Frank has been involved in transactions of all sizes, from a $1,500 loan for a wedding ring to a $50MM commercial loan to finance an ice-breaking ship. Through it all, Frank believes the diversity of his professional experience, combined with firsthand insight into the challenges and opportunities faced by businesses, are his greatest strengths.
Frank holds a Bachelor of Science in Financial Management from Clemson University and has received degrees from the Graduate School of Retail Banking at the University of Wisconsin and Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University.
He started The Community Bank of Greenville in 1995, before subsequently navigating complex financial landscapes, including the 2008 financial crisis, in leadership roles at two other community banks. More recently, Frank led a team of 150 professionals as Executive Vice President at The Palmetto Bank.
Beyond traditional banking, he has served in senior executive roles across a range of industries including manufacturing, logistics, and professional services. He has also owned and exited multiple businesses, including a custom woodworking firm and a regional trucking company.
Born in Georgia, Frank has primarily lived in South Carolina since 1995, and he calls himself a full-fledged Sandlapper who enjoys all things outdoors, including golf, paddle boarding, biking, hiking, camping in the mountains, relaxing at the beach, and following Clemson Tiger athletics.
He and his wife share a blended family of four grown children and two grandchildren.
